Leaving Bolivia until rainy days are over. Potosí-Tupiza-Villazón, and then crossing the border by foot. Trip with broken bridges, a rewarding dialog with Johnny, and loads of my repetitive music (including a regression to 173.04). Next, Salta… it will be a whole day trip, for sure.

When you arrive at Potosí, you have to do that touristic-typical things: Casa de la Moneda, mine tour. The latter was special. Now, I really don’t know if it was worth the experience, but if my oblivious mind can retain all these memories, it will be. Companions: Oscar, Reinaldo, Marcela, Rodolfo, Romi, Ross, and 2 french guys whose names I cannot recall.

After hours in the bus station, asking, buying tickets and having them cancelled, seems that every bus to Potosí has been blocked, because of the floods. So I returned to the hostel waiting for a better tomorrow. I’m happy that I took the decision to leave to Argentina on the rainy season.
At least I’m not meeting anyone in Salta (something that, by the way, saddens me), I don’t have to rush.

Sunday: The Carnival’s Rehearsal. Next week here is going to be crazy, because even the rehearsal was massive. Anyway I’m not staying. A whole-day parade, with lots of petty attacks: water ballons, foam and water guns. At first, it was cool… but after a while it’s easy to get sick of these childs. Fortunately, they take it easy with a frowning foreigner.
Tomorrow: Potosí.

After three days of travelling through Bolivia, Linda, Joost, Esther, Matt, Valerie and me, reached Uyuni. 3 days filled up with UNO, a painful hit on the head, (cigarette) butts, beautiful sceneries, conversations throughout wine, bumps and shaking, altitude (max around 4800m), coca leaves, shared music, and ultimately, frustration. Tiredness overtook us, as some feelings did, specially in my case…
Somewhat, I felt the deepest of all hearts, all over again. Of course it is not the same, but it ended 3-1. Now, more intense, more than a hundred hours shared. As bonds grew, so did a relationship too feared (or -ironically, falsely- uninteresting) to begin with. Too many games of advance and retreat… I did everything I could -and more-, though now I would change some things I did. Not a lost chance for me. Lost some self-appreciation, won some kindness. Grew bitter. Fortunately I know wounds tend to cure quicker now.
