In Rabbit Valley two families ate breakfast. Dirt bikes on the horizon- and no motivation on my part to go down the canyon. I just kept going westward, into Utah. At Sego Canyon, I spent some time around the ghost town and the petroglyphs.
My goal -if I really had one- was to sleep near Moab. After getting there I drove around it and decided to find a site that was listed in freecampsites.net.
The access to that place wasn’t easy. Crossing the river so many times wasn’t a problem… Dodge didn’t disappoint -although the tension rose when it started skidding in a stretch of track with the gorge on its side. And having to go rearwards to let a jeep pass -at least the driver provided me with an important piece of information: “This is the worse part of the track”. After reaching a plain which I assumed it was the end of the Onion Rd itself (and the beginning of a long straight dull-for-some-miles track to La Sal), I went back to a good campsite I found. And then? Well, with loneliness. “I’ll have to play guitar and drink beer.”
