I woke up in Page. I had two options: to return to Los Angeles (something reasonable and unreasonable at the same time considering the condition of the van)… or to find a campsite to stay for a few days. Considering that the van wasn’t going to fix itself magically, I ended up leaving.
Before returning to California I tried to see Antelope Canyon and take a bath (again) in Lone Rock. The stupid bureaucracy and lack of time (and patience) would deprive me of both experiences.
The wheel that I fixed the day before with Slime had a part of the tread worn-out, a plain stripe that was extremely hot to the touch. When stopping the van, it started peeing that anti-ecological green pee that others call coolant. I had to get to LA avoiding that eventualities. The three hours (of the 12 that took me to get to Newbury Park) across the desert in those conditions were somewhat stressful. But in the end, nothing happened.
