Tranquillity. And walking around stones someone from the BsAs university put some days ago, trying to recover the long gone past. Interesting scenery. Turns out that the old lady playing the charango is a strange guy with dreadlocks. Dinner in a peña where the musician plays over an iPod…

Sunburnt tour to Salina Grande. Another salt mine. Then, to Tilcara, and looking for a hostel. ‘Los Molles’, calm through the flood.

Quilmes ruins. A lot of hitchhiking attempts, some of them successful.

Before departing to Amaicha, we go to Río Colorado. We (the four argentinian girls and me) are lazy, and fond of sandwichs. Met a local, he was boasting about their traditions while everything around seemed less genuine.
In Amaicha, relaxing and writing.

We were a group, indeed… and we had an addition: Lucrecia -and her motives, romantic. We went to Garganta del Diablo, and around. We drank mate and improvised some music with a musician (and a druggy, btw). Hitchhiking back to the town.

Tour to Cachi. Asleep 50% of the time. It’s the buses, they have an hypnotic effect on me. Shocking sceneries but bad guide.

2 days in Salta already, and it’s a beautiful town. But, truth to be told, my time here has been somewhat boring. Maybe it’s just because of the hostel (the first one with room -from now I should book in advance-), not an ideal social interaction environment (actually I think I spent almost the whole day with the staff). But it’s an excuse for planning next moves and relax (with Stella Artois, Philip Morris and other ‘friends’).

D Sunburnt, sorrowburnt in Uyuni

After three days of travelling through Bolivia, Linda, Joost, Esther, Matt, Valerie and me, reached Uyuni. 3 days filled up with UNO, a painful hit on the head, (cigarette) butts, beautiful sceneries, conversations throughout wine, bumps and shaking, altitude (max around 4800m), coca leaves, shared music, and ultimately, frustration. Tiredness overtook us, as some feelings did, specially in my case…
Somewhat, I felt the deepest of all hearts, all over again. Of course it is not the same, but it ended 3-1. Now, more intense, more than a hundred hours shared. As bonds grew, so did a relationship too feared (or -ironically, falsely- uninteresting) to begin with. Too many games of advance and retreat… I did everything I could -and more-, though now I would change some things I did. Not a lost chance for me. Lost some self-appreciation, won some kindness. Grew bitter. Fortunately I know wounds tend to cure quicker now.

Touring with Gabi, interesting girl, to Ojos del Salar, Laguna Tebenquiche and Laguna Cejar. We swam in a lake with a 30% of salt. We made thousands of pictures, until the sunset.
